 Post subject: 84 to 85 Thermostat outlet swap?

Read on another site that 85 2.8L motors had their thermostat in the upper water outlet attatched to the top rad hose, instead of having it in the 84's location down low in the front. If this is so, can I just go snag an upper water outlet from a 85? If it is true, apparently even Ford thought it was a bad idea putting the t-stat down there.

If I remember right. You have to get the whole plumbing section from the 85' to make it work. I have swapped them out to 77-84 motors before I install them into my 1985.
