just joined after reading and liking the posts on here. i got a 87 broncoii that i just finished a 44sas on and i am now installing the 435 with np 205 behind a 93 5.0 HO. i am looking for specific info on the fly wheel/ hyd clutch info to use on this. matt gave has steered me in the right direction saying that a clutch and flywheel from a 81 f-150 5.0 would work. he used a mech clutch with a adapted hyd assist. question is has anyone mated the 435 to a h.o. with a full hyd clutch ? i know it needs a 11" 164 50 oz flywheel, but not sure what year to get a full hyd clutch out of. also i have a E4XX or 84 bell housing any suggestions on what fork to use? thanks for all the input in advance! i will be posting picks of my 44 sas and will try to do a detailed article on my efi install.

there is a bell housing that works with a NP435 that is full hydro. I know this because I had a friend that did it in his 81 FS Bronco. I want to say it is in the early 80's so the bell you have might be the right one. I think he found the info on pirate4x4.com. the downfall to that setup is it is a internal hydro. setup. meaning if the slave goes bad you must pull the tranny to replace it.

Matt is 100% right. as far as balance goes it depends on the motor. if you have a 93 then it needs to be a 50 I want to say it was in 80 or 81 that it changed over to the 50 from 28. I hope this helps in some way, if you haven't found your flywheel yet.

you should have a bolt together project if this is the way you are going. the only thing you will have to figure out is connecting your hydro. line to the new slave.

thanks for the info. i just had one more question about the flywheel weight. i read allot of hot rod forums and some say that only the H.O's went to 50 oz and the truck and passenger non H.O's are still 28 oz. i agree they changed around 81 or 82 but did they all ?

In 82 all 5.0L went to 50 oz. However, all 351W are 28oz.

Did napa have a flywheel for you?

the ford setup i has, uses an external slave mounted to the bellhousing.

i checked with napa and they have the flywheel in stock, but i have to go look at it to make sure its the 50oz. if my bell housing does not have a provision for the slave cyl is there a braket that can be bought? i see the pics of matt's and it looks special made. i am currently building my project out of a 10x25 public storage unit which does not have electrical hook ups so all fabrication has to kept to a minimum. does anyone have for sale a clutch/brake/gas pedal assy that will fit a 87 bronco ii. mine is currently an automatic.

through research on ebay i found that the belhousing i have is for a hyd clutch!! hopefully i will get it next mont- wife is expecting with twins, so i have to spend wisely. thanks for all the help and i will let you know how it goes

the bracket you have on the bellhousing for the slave cyl, is that factory or did you make it ? i just found the members ride forum and saw the rest of the pics of your rig, looks great, i have had 3 of the early bronco's, they are awsome, i went bronco II this time because i they are a ton cheaper, and no body work. the thing i hated the most was by the time i got a early bronco done i didn't want to take it off road cuase it was too pretty.

I agree that the Bronco II is far easier and cheaper to build. I definatley don't plan to trash the EB like I did my Bronco II. Hopefully at some point down the road I can build another Bronco II. Thing is, there are so few places to go wheelin anymore, it's hardly worth it.

The bracket I made for my Bronco II V8 conversion was basically just a piece of angle iron. Then I used a toyota landcruiser slave cylinder. It always worked very well. Never had clutch issues. There are several pics here

also one more point that was not mention or asked... but what I did for a fully Hydrolic clutch assembly was used the stock Master on the BII and the Stock Slave on the Tranny and mated the lines using a compression fitting works AWESOME :p

Just thought id mention it if you where trying to figure out how to mate the lines

did most people who did this swap with a 5.0 go to the f-150 oil pan or did they stay with the mustang pan? i think the f-150 you are able to add another quart of oil, not sure about this, anyone have any experience?

I am not sure but IIRC the EB pan is the way to go, if that is the case I have one for sale cheap.
