Hello, I guess im the new guy here. I just bought a 85 BroncoII with an automatic tranny and wondering if someone can tell me some stuff about these things. I really know nothing about them. Like what kind of axles, tranny, transfer case, and what are the weak links on these trucks. Also, has anyone pulled off the computer controlled carb of and replaced it with an regular carb and distributor? If so, what kind of carb and things did you use. Sorry If I already sound like a moron, just dont know anything about these trucks, or motors for that matter. My plans are to put a 2inch suspension lift and a 3inch body lift on it and some 32's or 33's, along with a few other odd and end things. I got the truck really cheap and dont want to sink a bunch more money into it, but I do want it to perform half way decent off road. Well, I hope I can learn something from you guys.

Welcome. Normally there is a lot more activity on this board, but I for one have been extremely busy. Well the B2 has a Dana 28 front end and Ford 7.5 rear. Mine was an 89 with EFI so I dont know much about the 84-85's sorry.

on the 84-85 the common up grade is the dura spark off 70's model trucks. very good ignition, I run it on 2 different motors. the tranny should be a c5. check it out because if it is you already have the hard to find part to do a v8 swap.

as far as the lift goes it realy depends on what you are going to do with the truck...

welcome to the board!
