I'm new to the bronco II's I have built two early bronco's that just turned out to nice to be on the trail. So to make a long story short I found this guy that needed money more than he needed his bronco so I came home with a 85 bronco II with a 302 C-6 new paint in perfect condition for 600 bucks. What I would like to do with it is go trail riding I would like to build my first ever four link with coilovers and semi cage it and outfit it with some goodies. What do you think I need to run dana44 or dana 60's and does anyone know about 4 links. I plan on starting on this when I return in April from Iraq. The trick is to build this on a budget. I have wasted enough money on parts I could have built just like everyone else I'm sure. And if I play my cards right, my wife will get into driving it and she will free up the cash flow if you know what I mean. Is the frame strong enough to support the abuse of a 4 link or will I need to bef it up. Questions, questions I would love some feedback on this. Thanks

I think axle size realy depends on how hard you plan to be on the truck. I am ok with a D44 but some people gotta have a 60 if you need it or not. don't get me wrong I would take a 60 if I found one cheap enough...

your frame should be fine if you think you need it just box and gusset where needed.

did you look around on the main page at all? nobody's SAS is a good step in search info for the solid axle swap.

bottom line, building a wheeler is a pretty universal thing. if you have built a truck before you already have a good idea of what you liked and disliked. the good thing is if you built 2 EB's you already know alot about the components you are going to be dealing with.

are you going full width or staying closer to the EB width?

I would rather go full width. My other two bronco's have a tendency to want to tip over when you get them crossed up. And I would like something to keep the sheetmetal off the rocks too. Semper Fi
